How can we help?

Browse the questions below to find information about using BidFlag and understanding our marketplace policies.

Buying
How do I buy an item?
Browse available listings, review the item description, condition, price or auction information and complete the purchase through the applicable BidFlag checkout process.
Can I buy items without bidding?
Yes. Where a seller provides a Buy Now option, you may purchase the item directly without participating in an auction.
What should I check before buying?
Review the complete listing, including the description, condition, photographs, seller-provided information, shipping terms, return policy and any other applicable listing terms.
What if an item is not as described?
If an item materially differs from its listing, contact the seller first when appropriate. If the matter cannot be resolved, you may contact BidFlag through the applicable dispute process.
Auctions & Bidding
How do I place a bid?
Open an active auction, review the listing and current bid, enter your bid amount and confirm the bid through the available BidFlag auction interface.
Are bids binding?
Yes. A bid represents an intention to purchase the item if you become the winning bidder. Bids should therefore be placed carefully and only when you genuinely intend to complete the purchase.
What happens if I am outbid?
If another bidder places a higher qualifying bid, you are no longer the current winning bidder. You may place another bid while the auction remains active.
What happens when I win an auction?
If you are the winning bidder when the auction ends, you are expected to complete the purchase according to the applicable auction and transaction terms.
Can I cancel a bid?
Bids should be placed intentionally. Whether a bid can be cancelled or otherwise addressed depends on the applicable Auction Rules and the circumstances involved.
Can I place bids without intending to buy?
No. Bids must be placed with genuine intent to complete the purchase if you become the winning bidder. Bid manipulation, false bidding or other auction abuse is prohibited.
Selling
How do I sell on BidFlag?
Create or access your seller account, create a listing, provide accurate item information, set the applicable sale or auction terms and publish the listing.
Can I sell through an auction?
Yes. Sellers may use the auction format where the applicable auction functionality is available.
What can I sell?
Items must comply with applicable law and BidFlag policies. Prohibited, restricted or unlawful items may not be listed.
How should I describe my item?
Provide accurate and complete information about the item's condition, features, authenticity, defects and other material facts that a buyer would reasonably need to know.
Can I use a No Returns policy?
A seller may offer a No Returns policy where permitted and where the policy is clearly disclosed in the listing. Such a policy does not excuse fraud, material misrepresentation or other obligations that cannot legally be excluded.
Payments & Orders
When do I need to pay for a winning bid?
Winning bidders are expected to complete payment within twenty-four (24) hours after the auction ends, unless different terms are expressly provided for the applicable transaction.
Can I pay outside BidFlag?
Users should keep transactions within BidFlag and use the applicable BidFlag payment process. Attempting to move a transaction outside the Platform to avoid applicable requirements is prohibited.
Where can I see my orders?
Order information can be accessed through your BidFlag account where the applicable order-management features are available.
What if a buyer does not pay?
A winning bidder is expected to complete payment within the applicable payment period. Sellers may report legitimate non-payment issues through the applicable BidFlag support or dispute process.
Shipping & Returns
How do I track my order?
When tracking information is available, it may be provided through the applicable order or shipping information associated with the transaction.
What if my item arrives damaged?
Document the damage, keep the packaging where possible and contact the seller or BidFlag support promptly. Photographs and shipping information may be useful during a review.
What if I never receive my order?
Check the available shipping and tracking information first. If the order remains undelivered, contact the seller and, where necessary, BidFlag through the applicable support or dispute process.
Can I return an item?
Return eligibility depends on the applicable listing terms, seller return policy, transaction circumstances and BidFlag's applicable Returns & Refunds Policy.
Buyer Protection
What is Buyer Protection?
Buyer Protection provides procedures for addressing eligible transaction problems. It does not mean that every transaction or circumstance automatically qualifies for a refund or return.
What issues may qualify for review?
Examples may include an item materially differing from the listing, damaged delivery, a missing order, an incorrect item or another legitimate transaction issue.
What evidence should I keep?
Keep order and transaction information, listing details, photographs, damaged packaging photographs, shipping and tracking information and relevant communication with the seller.
Are all purchases automatically protected?
No. Eligibility depends on the item, listing terms, transaction circumstances, available evidence and applicable BidFlag policies.
Disputes & Resolution
Should I contact the seller first?
Yes, when appropriate. Buyers and sellers are encouraged to communicate directly and make a reasonable attempt to resolve the issue before requesting formal BidFlag assistance.
How do I open a dispute?
If an issue cannot be resolved directly, contact BidFlag through the applicable support or dispute process and clearly explain what happened and what resolution you are requesting.
What information may BidFlag review?
BidFlag may review listing information, transaction details, communications, shipping information, photographs and other relevant evidence available during the review.
Can sellers open disputes?
Yes. Sellers may raise legitimate concerns involving unpaid transactions, fraudulent buyer activity, inaccurate claims or other transaction issues.
What happens if someone makes a false claim?
False claims, fraudulent evidence, returning a different item or abuse of the dispute process may result in account restrictions, suspension or termination in accordance with applicable BidFlag policies.
